Earn Singapore Airlines Krisflyer miles on Scoot and Tigerair flights

Singapore Airlines has been working hard in the last few months to bring its subsidiaries to become a part of the lucrative KrisFlyer program. Even though earlier this year in April, Singapore Airlines had made available redemption possibilities on these two carriers and also on its India partnership Vistara, but its low cost cousins were not part of the earning group. That is going to change now that Singapore Airlines will allow you to earn Krisflyer miles when you fly on Scoot and Tigerair. Etihad and its partners offering triple and quadruple miles

Etihad seems to be running these multiple offers throughout the year on its own and its partner network loyalty programs whereby it offers double/triple/quadruple miles across various classes on its network. Etihad and its partners are now running an offer under which if you book your tickets on Etihad or one of its Etihad Airways Partners between September 14th and September 28th, 2015 to fly anytime from September 25th to December 15th, 2015, you will receive triple the miles normally earned in Business class and quadruple in First class. Jet Airways acting CEO resigns, unhappy with Etihad strategy

Jet Airways can’t seem to get a break in losing its top officials. Ever since Etihad got a green signal to pick up 24% stake in Jet, there has been a steady outflow of senior executives who have been unhappy with the way Etihad has been driving things at Jet and trying to use it as a feeder to bring foreign bound Indian traffic. The latest to leave is the acting CEO Ravishankar Gopalakrishnan thereby becoming the fifth senior executive at the airline to quit since last year. Gopalakrishnan had become the acting CEO on 16th January after Gary Kenneth Toomey quit within seven months of taking up the place. Etihad ups its stake to 19.9% in Virgin Australia

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates has upped its equity stake in Virgin Australia Holdings to 19.9% through a number of  market purchases it had made in these last few weeks. Etihad has been on a stake acquisition spree in the past few years as a strategy to build up a network to compete with bigger middle eastern competitors of the likes of Emirates and Qatar Airlines. The airline has built up equity stakes in Air Berlin, Air Seychelles, Virgin Australia and Aer Lingus, will acquire 49% of Air Serbia from January 2014 and, subject to regulatory approval, will acquire 24% of India’s Jet Airways. Starting Q1 2012, Oneworld will get a big push in its network expansion with the addition of 3 new members from different geographies. Air Berlin from Germany, Kingfisher from India and Malaysia Airlines will give Oneworld reach into these new markets for the alliance. Air Berlin to commence non-stop operations from Berlin to Los Angeles

OneWorld member-elect Air Berlin will commence non-stop flight operations from Berlin to Los Angeles, the airline plans to start a three times-weekly service starting May 2012. The new route will allow the airline to integrate much better with its OneWorld partner American Airlines hub at LA and utilize redemptions on each others routes from their respective hubs. The airline plans to use a Airbus A330-200 aircraft offering both business and economy class for this route. The inaugural flight on this route starts on 11th May 2012 with flight AB7022 departing Berlin Tegel at 1000 on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and arriving in Los Angeles at 1250.
