Travel Blogging Comeback – Why I’m Returning to Plane ‘n Simple

Hello, fellow travel enthusiasts and aviation aficionados!
Making a travel blogging comeback isn’t something I planned, but here we are! After an extended break from writing, I’m excited to announce that Plane ‘n Simple is officially back in business.
If you’ve been wondering where I’ve been lately, you’re not alone. Looking at my own blog, I’m honestly a bit surprised at how long it’s been since my last post. Life has a way of putting even the most dedicated travel bloggers on an extended layover, and that’s exactly what happened to me.
This travel blogging comeback represents more than just returning to writing – it’s about reconnecting with a community I’ve missed and sharing fresh perspectives on an industry that’s transformed dramatically.
Why the Radio Silence?
The travel industry has been through quite the turbulence over the past few years, hasn’t it? Between pandemic disruptions, airline bankruptcies, hotel closures, and the complete reshuffling of loyalty programs, there were times when it felt like everything we knew about travel was changing faster than I could write about it. Sometimes stepping back and letting the dust settle is exactly what’s needed.
During my blogging hiatus, I’ve been doing what I do best – traveling, observing, and taking notes. I’ve watched as airlines adapted their routes, hotels reimagined their service models, and loyalty programs evolved (for better and worse). I’ve collected stories, insights, and plenty of opinions about where this industry is headed.
What’s Coming Next
The travel landscape today looks dramatically different than when I last posted regularly. New airlines have emerged, established carriers have merged or folded, and technology has transformed everything from booking to boarding. There’s never been a more exciting time for a travel blogging comeback.
I’m eager to share fresh perspectives on the current state of aviation, hotel industry developments, loyalty program changes, and the travel tips that actually matter in 2025. Whether it’s breaking down the latest airline route announcements, analyzing hotel merger implications, or simply sharing which airport lounges are worth your time these days, I’m ready to get back to what I love most about this space.
I Need Your Input
Here’s where you come in. This blog has always been about making travel simpler and more enjoyable for everyone, but I want to make sure I’m covering what matters most to you. The travel world has evolved, and so have travelers’ needs and interests.
What would you like to see more of on Plane ‘n Simple? Are you looking for:

Thanks for sticking around during the quiet period. Now let’s get this blog back in the air where it belongs.
Safe travels!
Welcome back! The most important key to a successful blog is not to be like Your Mileage May Vary, another boardingarea blog. That blog alters comments and highly censors them, even to the point of completely censoring them. This creates ill will and shows how insecure those authors are (or at least 1 of the 2). Look at the countries that heavily censor, like China, North Korea, Iran, Cuba, Russia so YMMV is the North Korea of boardingarea, sad to say.
As far as priorities, consider all of your suggestions.
Sequentially in your list I’d say points two and four are the biggest ones then three and five. Thanks.
