Uber the ever popular on demand ride hailing company has announced that it will be tying up with the TransLoc, a technology company that is involved in building technology products for public transit passengers and agencies. The plan is to integrate Uber into the TransLoc Rider app, which provides real-time bus tracking and route planning.
The planned integration will debut as a pilot program in mid-February in Memphis, Tennessee, and Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina and will allow passengers to plan trips that combine public transportation with Uber rides. With this new tie-up the company would now be able to offer last mile connectivity right up until your destination from start to end.
With the latest announcement by Uber to open up its API to allow many other apps to provide Uber within their apps itself will definitely lead to increased coordination and also tighter integration with many other apps example of which we have already seen such as the Spotify and Facebook Messenger integration. We are already seeing competitors such as Lyft and other global players using this strategy to connect with many other popular apps to add up to their consumer base and provide a seamless experience to the end user. What are your thoughts on this new exciting integrations that would be coming up soon? Are you excited by these possibilities or you would still prefer to order your rides via the company’s own app itself?
