Air Berlin to commence non-stop operations from Berlin to Los Angeles

OneWorld member-elect Air Berlin will commence non-stop flight operations from Berlin to Los Angeles, the airline plans to start a three times-weekly service starting May 2012.

The new route will allow the airline to integrate much better with its OneWorld partner American Airlines hub at LA and utilize redemptions on each others routes from their respective hubs.

The airline plans to use a Airbus A330-200 aircraft offering both business and economy class for this route. The inaugural flight on this route starts on 11th May 2012 with flight AB7022 departing Berlin Tegel at 1000 on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and arriving in Los Angeles at 1250. The Berlin-bound leg for the route with AB7023, will depart at 1445 and land 0725 the next day.

This new route will be in addition to the existing seasonal service from Los Angeles to Dusseldorf which operates on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Air Berlin also The airline will also be increasing its frequency to New York by offering daily flights from its Berlin hub, up from the current four times per week.

This surely will act as a boost for he airline’s Berlin hub helping it cater to increased US traffic in both directions.

  1. Thanks to Berlin airlines for adding an affordable route from Europe to the west coast of U.S. with an implied assurance of well maintained equipment. I look forward to my flight instead of dreading it.

    I have flown on the usual fly-by-night cheap airlines like Philipine airlines and had bad experiences.
