OneWorld member-elect Air Berlin will commence non-stop flight operations from Berlin to Los Angeles, the airline plans to start a three times-weekly service starting May 2012. The new route will allow the airline to integrate much better with its OneWorld partner American Airlines hub at LA and utilize redemptions on each others routes from their respective hubs. The airline plans to use a Airbus A330-200 aircraft offering both business and economy class for this route. The inaugural flight on this route starts on 11th May 2012 with flight AB7022 departing Berlin Tegel at 1000 on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and arriving in Los Angeles at 1250.
