Air France and PayPal partner to make buying tickets seamless

Air France is not really known as a very creative driven airline. Its a title that usually goes to its partner KLM who have brought in unique customer focussed initiatives like 24/7 twitter support in  multiple languages, find your seat mate and many more. But this time Air France has taken a leaf out that same book and launched a new initiative by which it will allow passengers to buy tickets on its website and pay via PayPal. Oman air buys London Heathrow slot for $75m

Oman Air is name that won’t be familiar to many of the travelers given that they aren’t in the league of the big Middle East 3 cousins namely Emirates, Etihad and Qatar Airways. But the airline has started flexing its muscles to show that it means serious business. As part of this, the airline has bought the coveted landing slot at London Heathrow for $75million from Air France-KLM, this beats the previous record of $60million deal done between American Airlines which bought the slot from Scandinavian carrier SAS. Nobody should go through such traveling hell

There has been a post that doing the rounds of social media circles and caught my attention. The blogger has written an open letter to Air France CEO Alexandre De Juniac describing the harrowing experience that he and 44 other people had to undergo when their flight from Paris to Mumbai was abruptly cancelled and they were made to wait endlessly on the air-side and the Air France staff showing an indifferent attitude towards them. The big issues that obviously come to anyone’s mind in such a situation is that: The airport being the airlines own hub, why couldn’t alternate arrangements be made to accommodate 45 passengers? Malaysia Airlines and Air France to launch new A380 services

Malaysia Airlines is planning to start its A380 service from KL-London Heathrow from 2nd July 2012, As per the information provided at Airlineroute.net The 503 seater aircraft will be operating 3 times a week service initially and switch to daily service from 15th August 2012. The reservation for the same is open and the schedule will be as follows: Kuala Lumpur – London Heathrow MH002     KUL      2340 – 0550+1    LHR MH003     LHR     1200 – 0725+1     KUL The airline has opted for a 3 cabin configuration with 8 First Class seats on the Lower deck, 52 Business Class seats on the Upper deck and 96 Economy seats on the Upper Deck and 347 Economy seats on the Lower deck.
